İnformation of the election committee of judges
03.02.2024Within the framework of measures taken in the direction of implementing the recommendations of the head of state regarding the completion of the judicial corps with lawyers presenting high knowledge and moral qualities, the continuous selection of candidates for the position of judges in conformity with international requirements and with transparent procedures is continued.
On December 22, 2023, a written exam was held electronically for the first time with 154 candidates who were successful in the test exam held on November 3, 2023. In the exam, 2 case essay topics in criminal and civil fields were answered within 4 hours.
The answer sheets of candidates were coded and checked separately by members of the Election Committee of Judges and invited experts in an anonymous manner, in a double-check method. According to the rules, the points scored by the candidate in both criminal and civil areas are added up and divided by 2 to determine the final score. A candidate with a final score of 60 or more is considered to have passed this stage of the written exam, provided that his scores for each essay topic are not less than 50.
According to the results of the exam, 80 candidates who scored 60 or more points were admitted to the next stage of the competition, the verbal exam. According to the rules, the results of the written examination are published only by indicating the personal identification code of the candidates.
Verbal exams will be held level by level from March 5, 2024.
It should be noted that the acceptance of documents of candidates continues and 151 candidates have already submitted their documents to participate in the test exam to be held on May 5, 2024. Taking into account the limited number of places, the Selection Committee of Judges invites those who wish to become judges to participate more actively in the competition.
