The selection process organized by the Judicial Selection Committee for judges is ongoing, with the purpose of flexible composition of a new generation of judges.

Following President Ilham Aliyev's Decree on Deepening reforms in the judicial and legal system” dated back to April 3, 2019, the selection process has continued steadily. More than 2,000 legal professionals have participated in the exams, and 216 candidates who successfully completed all stages, including an educational course and internship in courts, have been appointed as judges of various first-instance courts by a presidential decree. Currently, 122 candidates are in different stages of the selection process, with 47 in the training phase and 75 undergoing verbal exams.

On December 15, 2024, a test exam was held for 325 candidates with the participance of international and local observers, as well as representatives from civil society and the media, at the State Examination Center.

During the exam, an appropriate environment was created for candidates, who answered questions individually using modern technology. Results were announced immediately after candidates completed their questions.

211 candidates who scored 60 or more points successfully advanced to the next written stage of the competition. The process has been highly evaluated by observers as transparent.

According to the regulations, exam results are published only with the candidates' personal identification codes.

Additionally, the Judicial Selection Committee continues to accept applications from candidates.

Interested legal professionals are invited to submit their documents.
