Judges of the Republic of Azerbaijan who hear commercial disputes visited Turkey

On April 5-10, 2025, as part of the experience exchange program with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Turkey (Yargıtay), a delegation consisting of judges of the Supreme Court, appellate and first instance courts, headed by the Chairman of the Commercial Collegium of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kamala Abiyeva, visited Turkey.

During the visit, the delegation was received by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Turkey, Ömer Kerkez, and the Prosecutor General of Turkey, Muhsin Şentürk. The work done in the field of judicial and legal cooperation between the two brotherly countries was highly appreciated at the meeting.

Then, our judges exchanged views with their Turkish colleagues on the scope and characteristics of corporate disputes, the characteristics of the consideration of contract disputes, the assistance and control functions of courts in the arbitration process, the characteristics of the consideration of commercial disputes with foreign elements, the international jurisdiction of courts and judicial practice in other areas of law.

The delegation visited the mausoleum of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk - Anitkabir, and the monument to the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, in Ankara.
