46th Plenary Meeting of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) Held
22.06.2026On 18–19 June 2026, the 46th Plenary Meeting of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) was held in Šibenik, Republic of Croatia.
The Republic of Azerbaijan was represented by officials of the Secretariat of the Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participating in their capacity as CEPEJ member and national coordinator. The meeting brought together representatives of CEPEJ member and observer States, government officials, and internationally recognised experts. In accordance with the meeting agenda, the representatives of the Secretariat presented an overview of the judicial reforms and institutional developments implemented in Azerbaijan since December 2025.
The plenary meeting also considered reports and updates prepared by CEPEJ working groups on the Evaluation of Judicial Systems, the Quality of Justice, and Cyberjustice and Artificial Intelligence. These included progress made in preparing CEPEJ’s forthcoming evaluation report, draft guidelines on the quality of interpretation in judicial proceedings, and a report on the use of artificial intelligence in the administration of justice. In addition, participants discussed a draft model training programme on emerging technologies designed to equip judges with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform effectively in an increasingly digital judicial environment and to enable them to play a leading role in the ongoing digital transformation of justice.
