A Regular Meeting of the Judicial-Legal Council Was Held

On November 5, 2025, the Judicial-Legal Council held its regular meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council, Inam Karimov, provided information regarding the reforms carried out in the judicial-legal sphere, the work done to modernize the administration of justice in line with contemporary challenges, and the tasks ahead.

At the meeting, the draft “Rules on Engaging Judges Appointed for the First Time for a Three-Year Term in Training” and the draft decision on “Amendments to the Territorial Jurisdiction of the Courts of Appeal, Serious Crimes Courts, Military Courts, Administrative and Commercial Courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan” were approved.

Subsequently, current issues, including disciplinary proceedings concerning judges, were reviewed.

The Council adopted decisions on the termination of judicial powers of several first-instance and appellate court judges, as well as Saadat Bektashi, Chairperson of the Supreme Court of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and member of the Judicial-Legal Council, due to reaching the maximum age limit for exercising judicial authority. They were also awarded the honorary badge of the Judicial-Legal Council for their effective service.
