The Next Meeting of the Judicial-Legal Council was held

During the meeting, information was presented on the reforms carried out in the field of the judiciary and the measures undertaken to further improve the administration of justice in accordance with contemporary challenges. Participants were also informed about the outcomes of the Second Forum of Judges of Azerbaijan, including the panel discussions held within the framework of the Forum. Particular emphasis was placed on the significance of the topics discussed during the panel on “Digitalization and the Application of Artificial Intelligence”, as well as on the objectives set for the further development of this area.

The meeting also considered several draft documents prepared by the Office and working groups of the Judicial-Legal Council relating to the functioning of courts, including:

• the Sectoral List indicating the retention periods of documents generated as a result of the activities of the courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Instruction on its implementation;
• the Rules on Conducting Monitoring in the Courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
• the revised Code of Ethical Conduct for Judges, redrafted in accordance with contemporary requirements.

During the meeting, the draft decision on introducing amendments to the territorial jurisdiction of the appellate, courts for grave crimes, military, administrative, and commercial courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan was approved.

In addition, in accordance with the agenda, members were elected to the Selection Committee of Judges and the Judges Evaluation Committee.

Subsequently, disciplinary proceedings were examined and relevant decisions were adopted.
