The Range of Candidates Eligible for Court Session Secretary Positions is Being Expanded

The Judicial-Legal Council has reviewed the qualification requirements for the position of court session secretary in first-instance and appellate courts, taking into account the shortage of legal professionals in certain regions of the country, the duties of the position, and the resulting necessity.

Accordingly, in addition to the specialty of Law, the “Educational Requirements” section of the relevant job description now includes the following fields: Philology, Philosophy, Translation (by languages), Journalism, Bibliography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Regional Studies (by regions), International Relations, Library and Information Science, Public and Social Relations, Public and Municipal Administration, and Social Work.

This change serves the following purposes:

  • Expanding human resource potential: Addressing workforce shortages in the regions and ensuring uninterrupted operation of the courts.
  • Enhancing the efficiency of judicial sessions: Ensuring a more balanced distribution of workload and strengthening organizational support for court hearings.
  • Attracting youth to the judicial system: Supporting the integration of graduates from humanitarian and social sciences into public service and judicial activities.
  • Improving administrative management quality: Involving individuals with strong language, communication, analytical thinking, and organizational skills in the daily functioning of the courts.

It should be noted that until now, only individuals with higher education in the field of “Law” were eligible to apply for the position of court session secretary. The new mechanism will enable a more flexible and inclusive personnel policy and will make an important contribution to the development of human resources within the judicial system.
