Representatives of the Supreme Court and the Judicial-Legal Council Visited Poland
05.11.2025Representatives of the Supreme Court and the Judicial-Legal Council attended an international conference titled “Rule of Law and Judicial Independence” held on 29–30 October 2025 in Warsaw, the capital of the Republic of Poland. The event was organized by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
The main objective of the conference was to exchange advanced international practices in strengthening judicial independence, enhancing the accountability of judicial bodies, and increasing transparency and public trust.
Judge of the Supreme Court, Rashad Hasanov, provided detailed information on recent reforms implemented in the judicial-legal system, the institutional development of the judiciary, the adoption of new formats of judicial statistics in line with the recommendations of international organizations for improving judicial accountability, and the mechanisms ensuring the institutional independence of judges. He also emphasized that the implementation of the new administrative procedural legislation marks a qualitatively new stage in protecting citizens' rights against decisions and actions of state authorities.
During the visit, it was noted that the knowledge and experience exchanged would be beneficial for improving Azerbaijan's judicial system. The visit will also contribute to strengthening international cooperation, enhancing trust in the administration of justice, and promoting the principles of the rule of law and effective administrative judiciary.
