A delegation of the Judicial-Legal Council paid a study visit to Albania

On December 15–18 of the current year, a delegation consisting of judges and representatives of the Apparatus of the Judicial-Legal Council, led by a member of the Judicial-Legal Council and Chairman of the Baku Court of Appeal, Mr. Mubariz Akbarov, participated in a study visit organized in Tirana, Republic of Albania.

The main purpose of the visit was to become closely acquainted with the areas of activity, organizational structure, and court administration practices of the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Albania, as well as to exchange knowledge and advanced experience on issues of mutual interest.

Within the framework of the visit program, during a meeting with the Chairperson and members of the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Albania, the delegation was provided with detailed information on the organizational structure of the judicial system in Albania, court administration, monitoring and evaluation of judges’ performance, procedures for the selection and appointment of candidates to vacant judicial positions, as well as reforms and best practices implemented in the field of introducing the electronic court system. Extensive and productive discussions were held on these topics.

Subsequently, a representative of the Secretariat of the Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan delivered a presentation on the status and functions of the Judicial-Legal Council, the judicial system of the Republic of Azerbaijan, recent reforms implemented to ensure judicial independence, and the capabilities of the “Electronic Court” information system.
