The next meeting of the Judicial-Legal Council was held

The next meeting of the Judicial-Legal Council was held on December 28, 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council, Inam Karimov, informed about the work done in the judicial field in recent times. It was reported that reforms are being continued in the direction of increasing the quality and efficiency of justice. The judicial system is being improved in accordance with international standards, the legislative framework regulating activities in this area is fundamentally updated.

It was highlighted that the Law No. 65-VIIQD dated November 7, 2024 of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Amendments to the Laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Courts and Judges" and "On the Judicial-Legal Council" will make an important contribution to increasing the quality and efficiency of justice.

At the meeting, relevant decisions were also taken by considering the cases of disciplinary proceedings, evaluation of judges' performance and personnel issues.

At the same time, the statutes of the Judiciary Council Office, Judges' Evaluation Committee and the Appellate Council of the Judiciary Council, draft laws on judges' service IDs were discussed, and the structure of the staffs of first instance courts was approved.

Later, the retiring judges were awarded with an honorary decree for their significant contribution to the improvement of the efficiency of justice through their activity in the court system for many years.

Then, Sanan Hajiyev, a member of the Council, Chairman of the Civil Board of the Supreme Court, presented extensive information to the members of the Council about the rules and methodologies for evaluating judges.
