Meeting with Newly Appointed Judges Held at the Milli Majlis

On March 17, a meeting was held at the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan with newly appointed judges.

Welcoming the participants on behalf of the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, the Head of the Apparatus of the Milli Majlis, Mr. Farid Hajiyev, congratulated the judges on their appointment and wished them every success in the discharge of their judicial duties.

He highlighted the process of building a democratic state governed by the rule of law, initiated under the leadership of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the adoption of the Constitution as one of its fundamental pillars, and the comprehensive judicial and legal reforms that continue to be successfully implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

Referring to the close cooperation established between the legislative and judicial branches of government, Mr. Hajiyev noted the significant legislative measures adopted by the Milli Majlis to further strengthen and improve the functioning of the judicial system.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Nizami Safarov, Member of the Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, spoke about the activities of the judiciary and the ongoing measures aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the judicial system. He also shared his views on a number of issues relating to international law.

Mr. Rashad Hasanli, Deputy Head of the Apparatus of the Judicial-Legal Council, expressed his sincere appreciation to the leadership of the Milli Majlis for the close cooperation established between the legislative and judicial authorities and for organizing the meeting. He expressed his confidence that the event would make a valuable contribution to the professional development of the newly appointed judges and support them in the effective performance of their judicial responsibilities.

The programme also included a presentation on the activities and institutional role of the Milli Majlis.

As part of the visit, the judges laid flowers at the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, visited the "Victory Corner" located within the administrative building of the Parliament, toured the plenary chamber of the Milli Majlis, and had a commemorative photograph taken.
