WRITTEN EXAMINATION HAS BEEN HELDFOR THE CANDIDATES FOR THE POST OF JUDGE
The selection process of candidates for the post of judge is being continued in full transparent conditions and at the latest international demands level within the measures taken on increasing the efficiency of judiciary in accordance with the assignments of head of state Ilham Aliyev.
More than 800 candidates for the post of judge took an examination at common hall in June of this year. The written examination was held on the 12th of August, 2016 for 359 candidates for the post of judge who successfully passed the previous exam.
Reputable international and local NGOs, as well as up to 20 observers from human rights protection organizations, representatives of TV channels and media observed the examination held in the common auditorium – in the Baku Palace of Sports in order to ensure the transparency. At the same time, the exam process has been broadcasted on-line in web-page of the Judicial-Legal Council.
Before the examination, a decision was adopted in the closed session of Judicial-Legal Council at the exam building relating to the number of exam questions in accordance with the rules of selection of judges.
Afterwards, Judges Selection Committee prepared the questions in the closed session at the same building and they were immediately brought to the exam hall. The candidates have chosen 2 cases on criminal and civil fields randomly by lototron.
At the examination that proceeding four hours, necessary conditions was created for candidates to show their abilities connected to disclosing of contents of the law and giving clear explanation by answering the questions, including correctly evaluating the issues by solving the cases.
Results of examination will be declared after double checking of anonym answer cards.
The exam process was highly appreciated by the observers as a transparent procedure.
